I realize that everyone is busy working; the weight of the world on your shoulders, no time except to eat, sleep commute and work then start all over.

Me?  I sit around fighting the Twitter Wars, scan pictures from long ago, read thick books on interesting topics, watch educational series on the composition and functioning of the Universe, watch the news, eat, sleep, take a ride to make sure the world is still there because if I believed the “News,” it stopped. We watch church on livestream, join in all the regular places in worship where the congregation does, sing along on the rendition of “How Great Thou Art” not limited at all by the fact that the only other person in the room is Kayty, and we’re both hard of hearing so loud doesn’t matter. I do “stuff” to the Church website, break sequestration and take pictures of the renovation work at Church, make the rounds to check on friends, mow the yard, trim the hedges, pay bills online, look at the account for the “stimulus” check, go to the mailbox and find the same ads that were there yesterday; and, wonder why all the fuss about Chinese Virus. Oh, yes, I know the stats and am saddened by the loss of one loved one. But statistically, not one of us is going to get out of here alive and the stats prove that.

I am not sick, not going to get sick, and if I do, I will get well. If I get sick and do not get well, I will die. But none of that worries me because I have read the only Book that really matters, understand its contents and how those contents apply to me.  It amazes me that God knows how many hairs are on my balding head at every second of the day.  God knows all information about every person alive and who has ever lived. He knows every bird that flies and has ever flown, every bee, every cat and dog…God knows everything about the infinitely large to the microscopically small, from the largest suns in the Universe to subatomic particles. I have always wondered about the tiniest things, what those little things, like quarks are made of? If the Universe is elliptical and we were situated at its edge, how big is the void in which it resides? Or if we peer into the darkness with the Universe to our back, would we see specks of light in the darkness? If so, what would they be, and how distant?  Is the dark void the “outer darkness” spoken of in Matthew 22:13 “Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”? Hum…

Like you, maybe, I wonder if we are in the “end of days” written about in the Bible, most certainly there are events happening on the oft stated, “Biblical” scale: calamities, weather phenomena and wars. Think of it, Jerusalem is recognized as the seat of the Jewish Government…a few years ago that was unthinkable. The U.S., indeed, most of the world is “locked down” precipitated by the Chinese virus whose origins and dispersion are suspect. Iran just put a satellite in orbit…and on and on. Probably one of the most amazing things is that God created all of it by uttering “mere” words, and the ultimate most amazing thing is John 3:16!

I heard a story years ago that during one of the manned rocket launches, one astronaut looked at the other seated next to him.  The first one noticed that the astronaut next to him was severely tense, reached over, touched him on the arm and said, “Relax, you don’t want to die all tensed up.” So be it, relax! Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
